You'll probably hear this repeated quite frequently in the last few years, something about this being an unique period for portuguese creative musicians. Jazz and improvised music made in Portugal have benefited of an increasing number of musicians, coming from distinct backgrounds and infusing the scene with such a diversity that ends up being it's main richness.
Ever since the first time we heard the group it seemed to us that the work that the sextet was developing – outside of the main city centers and with a very slim connection with the established jazz millieu – was worthy of our support.
Somewhere in mid 2014 JACC – Jazz ao Centro Clube invited Slow is Possible for an artistic residency as part of XJAZZ – Schist Villages Jazz Concert Series, promoted in association with ADXTUR (Agency for the Touristic Development of the Schist Villages). The network of the schist villages has been significantly supporting creation promoting this territory as a unique place for artists to work with suitable conditions.
A year after the residency the record is finally out. At JACC records we couldn't be prouder!
